Passangers of a train that were going from Cork to Dublin had to stay around for almost 4 hours after a train mishap.
All the problems started with a major mechanical delay between the stations of Mallow and Charleville. As a result of the power fault, the train was immobilised and the power systems including lighting and air conditioning were affected. Because of the breakdown, passengers were transferred on to the 5.20pm service which was brought alongside the broken down train.
The 5.20pm service then had to stop at all stations along the route and was also held at Portarlington to allow for users to connect to the Galway line and to allow for a driver transfer.
After that many transfer and troubles, the passagers finally arrived at Heuston train station at 10:55 PM, four hours later that on the schedule.
The Iarnrod Eireann, the company operation the passager train, has appologised for the issues and offered a full refund for the customers that were involved.
