Michelangelo is currently the subject of an extensive new exhibition at the National Gallery in London, and this documentary has been made to coincide with the historical celebration of the infamous artist who was born nearly 550 years ago.
Famed for his pivotal role in the Renaissance, and famously patronised by the Florentine power family De Midici, Michelangelo was the Damien Hirst of his day, widely regarded and treated as a celebrity.
